Questions. Possibilities. Creating what has not been created before. This is why I make my art. After receiving my BA art degree at Georgia Southern University, I continued my studies in NYC at Parsons School of Design and at The Art Students League of NYC. In 1983 I co-founded and co-directed Blue Rat Gallery, Atlanta's first alternative showcase for cutting-edge artists. In 1990 I co-founded and co-directed Exhibit A Gallery, also an alternative space for Atlanta artists. Atlanta, New York, Paris, and San Francisco are the cities where I have lived and made my art. Currently I work from my studios in Atlanta and in La Charité-sur-Loire, France. I have used my life and experiences to fuel a passion that began with painting, then photography –this passion progressing into a natural mating of the two, incorporating installation and sculptural forms, as well. |
